CYSCOE at Hackout Business 2026: FIMI, hybrid warfare and disinformation

Daniel Leu, Cyber Threat Intelligence Researcher at CYSCOE, speaker on the FIMI, hybrid warfare and disinformation panel at Hackout Business 2026

On 30 October 2026, the Cyber Security Cluster of Excellence – CYSCOE takes part in Hackout Business, part of the 5th edition of Hackout, which brings together leaders from cybersecurity, business and the startup community at the Grand Hotel Bucharest.

Daniel Leu, Cyber Threat Intelligence Researcher and Factide’s representative in CYSCOE, speaks on Panel 2 – FIMI, hybrid warfare and disinformation, scheduled from 15:30 to 16:30.

About the panel

Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference (FIMI) has become a constant feature of hybrid conflict, directly affecting public trust, democratic processes and the business environment. The panel brings together perspectives from research, journalism, strategic communication and cybersecurity:

  • Dr. Susana Dragomir – International Digital Policy Advisor & FIMI Analyst (moderator)
  • Alina Bârgăoanu – Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Public Relations, SNSPA
  • Marian Voicu – Publisher, Veridica.ro
  • Mihai-George Forlafu – Senior Cybersecurity Architect
  • Daniel Leu – Cyber Threat Intelligence Researcher, CYSCOE

CYSCOE’s contribution brings in the technical side of the phenomenon: identifying the infrastructure and actors behind disinformation campaigns, the link between influence operations and cyberattacks, and the role of threat intelligence in protecting organisations.
