ICI Bucharest

The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics, ICI Bucharest, was founded in 1970 and is the leading research, development and innovation institute in information and communications technology (ICT) in Romania. Since its creation, ICI Bucharest has been a source of IT experts whose studies and research have contributed to the development of the field.

Main activities

  • advanced and applied research in national and European research and development programmes;
  • technology transfer of ICT research results;
  • development, implementation and provision of services in its field, such as computer networks, cloud computing and cybersecurity;
  • participation in large projects for the digitalisation of public services and of state-owned and private companies;
  • IT consultancy and management of digitalisation projects (feasibility studies, diagnosis and forecasting, master plans, technical specifications, modernisation studies);

  • dissemination of research results through publications and scientific events;
