CYRESRANGE Project: Advancing Cybersecurity Excellence

The Cybersecurity Excellence Cluster Association (CYSCOE) is proud to be a beneficiary of the “Cyber Ranges Resiliency Networks – CYRESRANGE” project. This initiative, funded by the EU’s Digital Europe program (call DIGITAL-ECCC-2022-CYBER-03, DIGITAL JU SME Support Actions), aims to create a robust network of interconnected cyber ranges, advancing cybersecurity capabilities across Europe.

Project overview

Coordinator: Maritime University of Constanța (CMU), Romania
Beneficiaries:

Implementation Period: 36 months (starting September 1, 2023)
Total Project Value: €1,750,033.27
Non-Reimbursable Financial Assistance: €1,101,494.20

Key objectives

  1. Interconnecting Cyber Ranges: Establishing a secure, federated network of cyber ranges using the #CyberEdu Range Connector for seamless integration and resource sharing.
  2. Training Marketplace: Developing a platform incentivizing content creation and enabling advanced training and certifications aligned with international standards.
  3. Operational Validation: Organizing large-scale, cross-sectoral exercises to validate capabilities and improve incident response readiness.
  4. Scenario Development: Crafting advanced training scenarios emphasizing emerging technologies like 5G, IoT, AI, and ICS.
  5. Advanced Threat Mitigation: Enhancing capabilities to counter advanced persistent threats (APTs) through realistic simulations tailored to critical sectors.
  6. Dissemination and Market Entry: Promoting project outcomes to industry, academia, and research communities, fostering adoption and collaboration.

Anticipated outcomes

  • CyberEdu Platform: A multi-tenant dashboard enabling rapid onboarding and customized training.
  • Scenario Builder: Tools for non-technical professionals to design sophisticated training programs.
  • Gamified Learning: Interactive simulations and assessments to guide career development in cybersecurity.
  • Unified Language: A standard framework for developing and sharing scenarios across cyber ranges.
  • Resource Sharing: Infrastructure to facilitate large-scale simulations and collaborative exercises.
  • Regional Resilience Network: A coordinated network of infrastructures and trained experts to support incident response.
  • CyberEdu Marketplace: A platform offering structured training, certifications, and incentivized content creation.
